Texas Medicaid: PEMS enrollment
How Texas Medicaid enrollment works
Texas Medicaid applications are completed online in the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS), which TMHP operates for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Incomplete applications are returned for correction, and the state decides the outcome and the effective date.
Managed care plans
Providers must be enrolled in Texas Medicaid before enrollment can be approved for Medicaid managed care, and managed care participation is a separate step with each health plan. Plan participation is decided by the plan. Marlien does not negotiate payer contracts, reimbursement rates, fee schedules, or participation terms.

Application submission commitment
How the commitment works
Start date: the later of our written confirmation that required documents are complete and the first date a payer allows filing.
Due date: 10 business days after the start date.
If we miss it: the engagement receives three additional months of credentialing maintenance at no charge. This applies once per engagement and is the sole remedy for a missed submission deadline.
What payers decide
Approval, network participation, processing time, and effective dates belong to the payer. Marlien does not guarantee them. The remedy covers Marlien's submission timing only.
